McLaren Heritage

Born racers.

McLaren’s story is one of restless technical development, characterized by gritty tales of heroism and human endeavour.

It started in 1963, when Bruce McLaren created his own race team and forged it in his image. A racing driver to his core, Bruce surrounded himself with people who shared his vision and obsession: dreamers, for whom racing was their whole life. Talent was important, but hard work, determination and enthusiam even more so.

Since then, McLaren have written history. Over 100 teams have come and gone in F1 alone and McLaren have won Racing’s Triple Crown; F1’s Monaco GP, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indianapolis 500. A prize McLaren Racing still chase today.

In 2010, McLaren Automotive was formed, taking this level of excellence from the track to the street, creating some of the greatest road cars in history. This new chapter was defined by the launch of the groundbreaking MP4-12C, alongside the legacy of the legendary McLaren F1 road car, followed by icons such as the P1™ and now the W1.

Now, that same robust history and drive to push boundaries sits at the heart of McLaren Golf.
